Indeed, standing before you is the entrance to a very dark cave. Mr. Okpik turns on his flashlight, and you marvel at the magnificent displays of frozen waterfalls, icicles, and flowing water beneath you. But what's that!? You freeze as you hear a loud grumbling in the distance. As Mr. Okpik scans the area with his flashlight, you manage to catch a glimpse of a large object with white fur and a black nose. It's a polar bear! Mr. Okpik stops you from shrieking. |

"Shhh! It's still sleeping, so you have to be quiet. What was I thinking! Polar bears live on the pack ice, where they hunt marine animals like the ringed seal. During a storm like this it would probably also want to find shelter, and so it came here. Don't worry, though. Polar bears are dangerous, but only when they're awake! Let's find a way out of here." |
